After years spent honing his skills in kart racing, Kyle is gaining the respect of his peers driving in open-wheel Formula Continental competition. A string of podium finishes including two Seconds and his 1st Win in the SCCA National Winter Tour has the team anxious for the Pro Series ahead. Following six years of go-kart racing on dirt tracks and paved road courses throughout the south, the Connery team now campaigns a full-size racecar, a Formula Continental entry built by Van Diemen. Racing began for Kyle at the age of 13 on local dirt tracks around south Florida. The second-generation racer racked up an impressive record during three years on dirt, but with a goal of road racing, he made the switch to asphalt and has not looked back. His driving prowess and tenacity led to the Florida State Championship in the 125 c.c. Shifter class at the age of 17, as a rookie. These karts utilize a sequential gearbox and reach speeds of 130 mph. "The skills I've learned in karting have made the transition to Formula Cars much smoother", according to the young racer. CC Autosport is a family effort. Father and team principal, Jim, a former road racer and mother, Toby, support the team with help from Connery Concrete, a specialty concrete contractor; with BTS Industries, an automotive and industrial chemical manufacturer; and other marketing partners. Early results for this young team include four wins in five Regional starts, along with a recent Win and two second place finishes during the National Winter Tour series at Sebring International Raceway and Homestead Miami Speedway. During the 2011 season, the team will compete in PRO F-2000 Championship Series events such as the fabled circuits as Road Atlanta, Watkins Glen, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Lime Rock, and Mosport Canada. |

His family's team, CC Autosport, purchased his car in late October. Before year's end Kyle had won four of five Regional races. In 2011, Kyle moved to National series and in three events has raced to 2nd twice and won his first National race at Sebring. This is considered quite a feat because racers and teams travelled from across the country to race in the warm Florida weather. Kyle is studying to become an engineer involved in some form of automotive or aeronautical development. This family effort, with the help of BTS Industries is hoping someone will take the opportunity to help with support realizing where this young man is going. James Lee Racing of Miami will campaign the car allowing Kyle to concentrate more on the engineering criteria and receive James Lee's instruction ability as the "Mentor" to many future aspiring drivers. 2011 Pro F-2000 will travel to Watkins Glen, Road Atlanta, Lime Rock, Road America, Virginia International Raceway and Mosport - Canada. |
